MindPiece

In collaboration with Queen Mary University of London, this Speculative Futures project seeks to answer the HACKMASTERS brief asking “What will the governments look like in 50 years?”

In a not so far away future, where brain-to-computer technology has been developed and monopolised by British tech giant ‘Mind Piece’, the UK has become the first nation to advance in this new and exciting neurological field. In collaboration with Mind Piece the government has set up a new NHS derivative, the National Memory Service. Importing knowledge, the ability to experience everything you’ve ever wanted or eradicating mental illness are among the advantages this technology could provide us.

The resulting speculative video aims to explore the humanitarian, economic and technological consequences of how it might be used with or against us. Exploring the governance of mind and memory, it begs the question of privacy in an ever more technologically advancing world. It asks what makes us human and the importance of autonomy and free will.

With one quick non-invasive procedure you can become among the 40 million brits experiencing the benefits of this life changing technology.

SO... are you ready to begin?
